I’ve written a long pre-amble to this ask here, particularly about being close to my grandfather as he nears the end of his life.
“Although this view may be controversial, I believe the best thing I personally can do right now to support myself, and you, and our world, is to continue to deepen my practice in this moment where I have the space to do so.
Would you like to support me to continue to practice & study deeply this year, outside of the monastic context where I spent the last few years? Your support means so much to me, especially as I continue to follow a rather countercultural path.
I believe it weaves the web of relationship stronger between us — I feel supported, and am indebted in the best way from receiving your generosity to really show up wholeheartedly for the path and pay it forward however I can. So in my view, the good multiplies far beyond the dollar amount.”*
All funds contributed will go towards dharmic activities. I’m currently raising funds for the 3 Yana Retreat, for which my budget is 2.5-3k in USD including dana for the teachers. I’d love your support which will overfloweth to them! Please only give if and what feels joyful to give, which I know will vary tremendously. Seriously, no amount is too small (or too big!)
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Love, Pema Elizabeth
P.S. If you’re not in the US you can give here on Wise - they have good international transfer rates. Or if you want to give through check or cash another way please let me know.
P.P.S. I am not using a platform because I cringed at the fees and wanted to make this more personal. I am all about transparency and happy to share accounts / updates / anything you want to know.
*Last year I also invited support for my post-Gampo Abbey dharma path, and the wording still feels resonant, so I’ve re-used a lot here. (By the way, the two month retreat I did with support from community last year was incredibly transformative, deepening my connection to the Buddhist path, particularly in regards to the power of loving kindness, like never before. Thank you.)
