I'm Elizabeth Cooper and I believe that

You are so worthy of love & respect.

 

We've been taught to play small.

We've been taught to hide our needs, our bodies and ourselves.

Especially when we have various marginalized identities.

And then those oppressive voices get engrained in our minds and bodies.

And even when we know better, it's often hard to actually feel our worthiness in our bones.

It's possible, and necessary.

Here's my vision of what's Possible for you:

  •  Feel comfortable in your own skin
  • Know what you want and ask for it

  • Get off the rollercoaster of worrying about what you did or didn’t do, particularly in relation to your body

  • Feel at ease and trust in your own body wisdom

  • Look in the mirror and smile

  • Go to social events feeling confident in yourself

  • A nourishing relationship with food and other things that feed you
 

A different kind of before and after

Before, I would say “I love myself but I wish I was thinner.”

Today, I can proudly say that I love ALL the different bits of me (especially the parts I used to wish gone).

Before, my eyes would shoot down to the floor as my body would fill with embarrassment whenever I would hear the word “fat”.  

Today, I can say “yeah I’m fat. you better believe it” with a smile and sense of stability. I now, with pride identify with a word I thought was bad throughout childhood.

Before, I would get dressed as soon as I hopped out of a shower, dodging any reflective surfaces.

Today, I run late because I spend so much time air drying and winking at myself in the mirror.

Thanks to Elizabeth and her patient guidance, I feel whole and I have a strong foundation of respect for myself.

Who is 1-on-1 coaching good for?

1-on-1 coaching might be for you if...

  • You want to be seen for all the parts of you -- and have them celebrated!
  • You know in your heart that you’re ready for things to be different
  • You’re ready to prioritize this transformation in your life
  • You’re open to envisioning a belief system where whatever you are viewing as bad is not bad (fat, disability, your gender identity, sexual desires etc)
  • Part of you does believe that you are enough and ready to receive somebody lovingly holding that vision for you
  • You are willing to look within and take responsibility for your beliefs and actions
  • You have either dipped your toes into personal development work and want more, are well-versed in that world and want to work on body trust in particular, or anywhere in between

1-on-1 coaching might NOT be for you if...

  • You are in a state of crisis
  • You are dealing with big mental health issues without support (i.e. if you have an active eating disorder, for example. I'm happy to refer you to therapists if I feel I'm not qualified to support you.)
  • You’re unable or unwilling to put in personal work

I synthesize a range of lineages and methodologies into Queer Body Love.

In addition to my BA in anthropology, gender & sexuality studies and performance from Princeton University, I’ve studied coaching with CTI; yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health; Antioch Buddhist Studies in India; and graduated from the Interdependence Project’s year-long secular, multi-lineage meditation teacher training.

I’m prepared to hold you in your journey.
